Come and work alongside professional coppice workers and learn how to restore a coppice woodland and the associated coppice crafts.
You will learn:
- Planning your coppice fall
- Coppicing using different tools and techniques
- Creating drifts and processing
- Layering and planting
- Coppice products and adding value to coppice woodlands
Participants are encouraged to camp during the weekend, refreshments and food will be provided.
This course is suitable for woodland community enterprises, woodland owners and managers and is a great opportunity to learn how to manage a woodland sustainably.
This year’s coppice camp will be held at Castle Ring Wood, Presteigne, Powys. This course has been subsidised by the Making Local Woods Work project.
