Make a Milking Stool

Course Cost: £75

Venue: The GreenWood Centre, Coalbrookdale, TF8 7DR

Create a simple traditional 3 legged milking stool with a solid seat  made from cherry or ash and shaped to meet your own style and specification. You will split, carve and shape the  legs from a single ash log and secure using  strong mortice and tenon joints.

You will learn:

  • Tool selection
  •  Wood selection
  •  Splitting, cleaving and shaping legs
  •  Carving and shaping the seat
  •  How to make strong mortice and tenon joints
  •  Putting it all together
  •  Finishing and preserving
