Woodland visit – Upper and Lower Harding woods, Somerset

30 May

Somerset has three AONB areas, of which The Blackdown Hills is the smallest and latest. Guy initially acquired  7.5 acres of deciduous woodland high on the escarpment in 2013. Followed by the adjoining 6.5 acres in 2014, this has fantastic views over to The Quantocks, and also the benefit of spring water. Access is good for both woods, and visitors can admire the mature Beech and Oak  amongst other species along the tracks that Guy has cleared. He also has areas of new planting and the comfort of two huts. (thanks to permitted development permission).

Bring a picnic lunch but enjoy a hot or cold drink on Guy.

10am – 2pm
