Coed Lleol/Small Woods has celebrated the success of projects across Pembrokeshire which have now officially concluded after months of dedicated effort.
The project, which focused on connecting people, nature, and place through skills and training, has successfully met and exceeded key targets designed to make a lasting impact on the community. Key achievements included creating 785m2 of ‘step-free’ accessible woodland paths, delivering 129 local community events, and engaging with over 500 people throughout the year.
Calum Stark, the woodland management project officer said “This year has been great. Our team (Sam Evans and Kat Budd) have smashed the targets for the SPF funded project. We have engaged with lots of amazing people and made long-lasting improvements to key woodlands in Pembrokeshire”.
In Pembrokeshire, Coed Lleol offered a wide range of programmes, one off sessions and volunteering opportunities throughout the year. The ‘Connecting People, Nature and Place through Skills and Training’ project, which started in January 2024 and finishes February 2025, has delivered sessions working with schools, young people and adults helping to build a deeper connection with nature and supporting health and wellbeing. The project also delivered Agored qualifications in ‘Introduction to coppicing’ Level 3 and ‘Maintenace of a countryside path’.
Coed Lleol/Small Woods projects in Pembrokeshire and across South Wales have been funded by UK Shared Prosperity Fund (SPF).
A big thank you to our Pembrokeshire team, partners, and community for their support!
