A day of networking and information exchange on current issues, including:
- Ips Typographus and the new implications to the East of England by Fred Toft of the Forestry Commission.
- An introduction to woodland management plans, from Forestry Commission woodland offices in the East.
- A presentation by Andrew Clark from The Sylva Foundation on using the “My Forest” and Woodland Condition Assessment online application tool for creating your own management plans
In the afternoon we will be taken on a guided walk by our host ,Guy Weller-Poley to see part of the Boxted Estate, including both the oldest and the tallest walnut trees in Europe (weather permitting)!
To finish, The BASC will give a talk on deer management and how to find a stalker in your area.
