This two-day course will help you to build the background knowledge needed to manage your woodland sustainably, and work towards creating resilient, productive woods.
Your tutor, Jim Waterson, has decades of experience as a woodland manager, and has taught Forestry and Forestry Products at university level, in addition to being an independent woodland advisor.
The course will be tailored to your individual needs, and you are encouraged to share details of woodlands you are familiar with to aid your learning.
We will cover:
- Assessing the resource.
- Protecting the resource
- Managing the resource
- Producing timber and wood
- Keeping it legal
- Thinking about the future.
This course will lead to accreditation at Level 3 with AIM, subject to submission of a completed course workbook for marking and assessment and field assessment of the skills and products elements.
