Tuesday 12th November at 2pm
We’re delighted to welcome Adrian Searle, Head of Communications at Forest Research, as our principal speaker at the Autumn Woodsmeet, which will be taking place online, via Teams.
Adrian is also a Small Woods Member who owns four woodlands in Scotland, totalling 105 acres. The largest of these is a commercial 73 acre site with some broadleaves, and the rest are broadleaves, ancient and modern.
“Forest Research (FR) is the research agency of the Forestry Commission (FC) and Great Britain’s principal organisation for forestry and tree-related research… internationally renowned for the provision of science, research, evidence, data and services in support of sustainable forestry.”
He will be explaining more about Forest Research and the work they undertake, as well as guiding us through how to use TreeAlert and Observatree citizen science, the Ecological Site Classification tool (ESC), the tree species database and the Climate Change Hub.
Come and find out how Forest Research’s tools and resources can help you to manage your woodland more effectively.
