In order to improve and maintain the health of our woodlands, the deer population require careful management.

As their numbers have increased, so has the impact that deer can have. In addition to stripping bark from trees which makes them vulnerable to disease, deer also eat young trees which prevents them from growing.

Arman Siddiqui is a Deer Officer for the Forestry Commission across Yorkshire and North East England. He will be talking about deer in the landscape,the level of damage and signs to look for, the options available to woodland owners, assessment and monitoring and working together.
