Leading up to Sallerton's 2024 season of Green Woodworking courses in the woods, the Easter week is traditionally spent getting set up in and around the workshops. Andy and Jane Morton are inviting keen friends and volunteers to join them in learning/practising some woodworking skills and helping with numerous tasks.

Volunteers will be fed hearty lunches each day and enjoy the friendly working atmosphere in the beautiful woodland workshop setting, with free camping/space for campervans available if desired. Camp fires and shared suppers are a real highlight in the evenings for those staying over.

If you are interested, please refer to the schedule below and email the organisers to let them know the dates you would like to attend and whether you plan to stay over in the woodland. Offering two or more consecutive days is preferable to allow continuity of tasks. Please note that places for the development week are limited, however, adults of all skill levels are welcome.

TASK SCHEDULE:

From Easter Bank Holiday weekend:

· Friday 29th March (Good Friday): Development week set-up day, arrival at the woods, stove wood processing

· Saturday 30th March – Monday 1st April (Easter weekend): New boardwalk construction

· Tuesday 2nd – Saturday 6th April: Shave horse components, work benches, shelter servicing/erection

The working day will run from 10am to 4.30pm, allowing plenty of time breakfast and relaxing in the evenings. Lunch, hot drinks and refreshments provided throughout the working day. Task schedule may vary depending on weather.
