Does your woodland have a problem with ash dieback?
Do you know what to do?
Do you know where to find help and support?
Have you thought about what might replace your Ash in the future?
Would you like to know more?
The Small Woods Association and the Forestry Commission have joined forces to bring you an informative and useful event in west Kent to learn about ash dieback and to discuss the management options for woodlands affected by it.
Speakers for the morning session:
- Emma Goldberg, Natural England – management options for ash dieback
- Simon Ginnaw, Forestry Commission – ash related grants and regulations
- Jim Reid, small woodland owner – experiences with management of ash in Backhouse Wood
- Rob Coventry, Forestry Commission – resilient restocking
In the afternoon we will use a workshop format to examine the different approaches to the management of Ash and discuss any challenges faced in your own situations. There will also be an opportunity to suggest what the Forestry Commission and the Small Woods Association might do to support you in the future.
