Unless you are qualified to use a chainsaw or operate a machine harvester or forwarder, the chances are that you will be using a forestry contractor to undertake forestry operations in your woodland at some point, as part of you overall woodland management. It is surprising how many people allow this to happen without a contract in place, and without understanding the legal roles and responsibilities for woodland owners and contractors.
This session aims to raise awareness of what you need to do to make sure there is a positive outcome all round for you and the sub-contractor that prevents your woodland from being damaged, limits your liability, ensures no one is harmed, and promotes the reputation of responsible contractors.
