From the magnificent Lake District to the glorious South Downs, landscape is a much loved and integral part of our national identity. 

How do we consider our woods as part of the wider landscape?

Woodlands enrich our landscapes in many ways, in addition to the range of ecosystems they provide.

We will be joined by Robin Gray, Landscape & Woodland Design Advisor with the Forestry Commission to consider case studies in sensitive landscapes and examine the results of recent research on how residents and the wider population value woodland.
