A day of networking and information exchange on current issues and topics, to include:
- Ips typographus and the new implications to the East of England, by Fred Toft, of the Forestry Commission.
- An introduction to woodland management plans, by Forestry Commission woodland officers
- A presentation by Andrew Clark, head of forestry at Sylva Foundation, on using the myForest and Woodland Condition Assessment online application tools to create your own management plans
- A guided walk by our host, Guy Weller-Poley, to see part of the Boxted Estate, including the oldest and the tallest walnut trees in Europe (weather permitting)
- BASC will give a talk on deer management and how to find a stalker in your area.
