"Woodlands into Management" is a series of events ran in partnership with small woodland owners and workers across the country. These events are organised and facilitated by the Small Woods Association in partnership with FSC.
These one-day events aim to encourage and inspire woodland owners and managers to bring woodlands into sustainable management and overcome some of the barriers that might stand in the way. Each session will provide training, advice, and discussion on a specific aspect of the woodland management process, with experienced guest speakers offering insights.
Join us on Saturday 28th September at Willowburn Wood, south of Edinburgh, for an introduction to sustainable woodland management. James Chapman is a permaculture teacher, consultant and roundwood timber framer who been managing his own woodland for the past eight years in a low-impact way for wildlife, fuel and timber.
The day will include a walk and talk around the woodland to gain insight into James' approach, and a practical woodland management task on which you will receive training and guidance. There will also be plenty of opportunity for questions and discussion throughout the day.
FSC are the main funder for these events, allowing them to be ran at low-cost. Places are available on a first-come-first-served basis.
