Virginia Harden Scott, Woodland Creation Officer, Central Scotland Conservancy, Scottish Forestry. Is coming along to talk to us about the woodland creation, the forestry grant scheme, and the carbon code.

She will be covering the drivers for integrating forestry into rural businesses, timber demand and markets as well as the wider benefits woodland creation can bring such as flood Management, and diffuse pollution control. About our speaker:

Coming from a farming background, since October 2016 Virginia has worked to promote and support the increase of new woodland cover within the Central Scotland Conservancy Area, helping to meet the Scottish Governments Climate Change Action Plan targets.  Within this she primarily aim’s to help landowners understand the potential opportunities associated with the integration of forestry into existing rural businesses and to highlight the related grant funding opportunities.
