The course:
This immersive and interactive two-day course will help you to build the background knowledge needed to manage your woodland sustainably, and work towards creating resilient, productive woods.
Liverton Village Hall is our venue for the classroom based elements, and practical learning will take place at Old Ley's Wood, a 17 acre site rich with broadleaf trees and diverse flora and fauna. The course will be tailored to your individual needs, and you are encouraged to share details of woodlands you are familiar with.
You will learn about:

- Protecting the resource
- Managing the resource
- Producing timber and wood
- Keeping it legal
- Thinking about the future.
Gain an accreditation at Level 3 with AIM, subject to submission of a completed assignment for marking and assessment.

Jim has decades of experience as a woodland manager, and has taught Forestry and Forestry Products at university level, in addition to being an independent woodland advisor.
